Già, quello che vedi nel sito o sulla mia bancarella non è un prodotto che io ordino e mi viene recapitato bello che finito.
Ci devo mettere del mio anche in questa fase.
Posso dire che Octagone SS38 l’ho voluto col cuore, progettato con la testa e realizzato con le mie mani.
Dammi un minuto, o poco più, e ti faccio vedere come realizzo con le mie manine una confezione di Octagone Statale Trentoctagone.
Ogni edizione di Octagone prevede al massimo un centinaio di pezzi, quindi è impossibile per me poterli commissionare la produzione in oriente o nei paesi dell’est, come fanno abitualmente le case editrici serie.
A dire il vero non vorrei comunque, perderei il controllo sulla produzione.
Devo essere autosufficiente e agile, quindi mi avvalgo di realtà locali per realizzare i semilavorati, cioè piani di gioco stampati e accoppiati a cartone rigido e tessere fustellate.
Con calma cerco di capire come ottimizzare il processo, realizzando anche dime o guide per accelerare e rendere più preciso il tutto.
Vai così di martello, pennello, fustellatrice e taglierino.
Piccola nota:
la dicitura “artigianale” è riservata esclusivamente alle imprese iscritte all’Albo delle Imprese Artigiane (AIA), in forza della Legge 34/2026, in vigore dal 7 aprile 2026.
Per questo motivo, a far data da oggi dichiaro ufficialmente Octagone un prodotto “MANIGIANALE”, giusto per rendere l’idea.

Dunque non farci troppo caso se, osservando Octagone, ti accorgessi che un rivetto è leggermente storto, un foro non è perfettamente centrato o un taglio non è precisissimo, pensa piuttosto che questi difettucci rendono unico l’oggetto che hai tra le mani.
Octagone non è perfetto, è autentico.
Ogni confezione racconta di me e per realizzarla ci ho messo molto di mio, anche una fettina di polpastrello!

Give me a minute, or just a little longer, and I’ll show you how I craft a copy of Octagone Statale Trentottoctagone with my own two hands.
Indeed, what you see on the website or at my market stall isn’t a finished product I simply order and have delivered to my door. I have to put my own effort into it, even at this stage. I can safely say that Octagone SS38 was born from the heart, designed with the head, and built with my own hands.
Mind you, this step doesn’t add high artistic or artisan value; it’s just simple, necessary manual labour to deliver the game exactly as I envisioned it. Each run of Octagone consists of a hundred copies at most, making it impossible to outsource production to the Far East or Eastern Europe, as proper publishing houses usually do. Truth be told, I wouldn’t want to anyway—I’d lose control over the production process.
I need to be self-sufficient and agile, so I rely on local suppliers to produce the semi-finished materials: printed game boards mounted on heavy card, and die-cut tiles. Step by step, I figure out how to streamline the process, even building jigs and guides to speed things up and keep everything precise. So, out come the hammer, brush, die-cutter, and craft knife.
A quick note: the term “artigianale” [artisanal/handcrafted] is strictly reserved for businesses registered with the Official Register of Artisan Enterprises (AIA), pursuant to Law 34/2026, effective as of 7 April 2026. For this reason, as of today, I officially declare Octagone a “manigianale” product—just to give you the right idea
So don’t think twice if, taking a closer look at Octagone, you notice a rivet that’s slightly crooked, a hole that isn’t perfectly centred, or a cut that isn’t pin-sharp. Instead, remember that these little quirks make the piece in your hands truly one of a kind.
Octagone isn’t perfect; it’s authentic.
